365-DAY ENGLISH STUDY PLAN
+ A MESSAGE FROM YOUR ENGLISH TEACHER
In my hand right now is literally the foundation of this YouTube channel. If you're watching this, if you're listening to it, you can't see the books, but I'll explain.
I have been a teacher online, an English teacher online, for quite a while. And I was thinking about what lesson I could teach you to wrap up this year—this 2024. We're about to go into 2025, and I'm sitting in my office, in my studio, preparing this video. While I was preparing the video, I had something planned, but I realized that's not what I want to talk about. That's not what I want to teach you.
What I want to teach you as we're wrapping up this year is the importance of passion, resilience, and consistency.
For those who don't know me, my name is Tiffany. I'm also known as Teacher Tiffany. Hey, if it's your first time seeing me, welcome! For those who have been with me for a long time, this is a different video. But again, I wanted to wrap up this year and just be sincere here. I guess it's story time, kind of. But I just wanted to open up my heart to you all.
Let me explain what these are.
When I first started this YouTube channel and my journey as an English teacher online, my goal was to help you organize your thoughts, help you speak English, but mainly with confidence. I realized that there were so many individuals around the world who were super intelligent, and the only thing they were missing was confidence.
So my goal as an English teacher was, and still is, and will always be, figuring out how to unlock that confidence in you. And in order to do that, I developed strategies and methods.
What you're seeing on camera right now is literally a collection of my notebooks, and I'm going to show you some of them. It's very nostalgic. It's a weird feeling that I'm having right now. because of the journey I have had on YouTube as an English teacher, the students I've interacted with, and the hours that have been spent creating strategies and methods.
Let me show you.
I'm just going to pick one randomly. The way I used to organize lessons when I was preparing them—I would use Keynote as a presentation software. And in order to make sure everything was visually appealing, I would draw everything out, literally.
This notebook, for example, is from years ago. These are my notes on how I was going to visually represent these lessons. How I was going to explain to you the five W’s, how to pick a topic, and how to actually speak on that topic. Everything is in these notebooks.
I'm sitting here, trying to gather my thoughts, because nothing has changed.
It's interesting when you're on a journey. There are points in time that seem to fly by, and then there are points that become pivotal moments on your journey. These notebooks represent pivotal moments on this journey of teaching English online—helping you speak English using strategies and methods.
For me, as a person, I’ve always been someone who enjoys taking notes and organizing them. For as long as I can remember, I have been coming up with strategies—in grade school, in high school, in college—to help my friends understand whatever we were learning in class.
When I look at these notebooks, the reason why you see me pausing a lot is because the same thing I was doing in college and high school is the same thing I've been doing for you as an English learner.
Wow.
Organizing my notes to break things down for you and help you speak English fluently.
When you go back and look at notes and realize that nothing has changed, and also realize that you still have the same passion, it’s an amazing feeling.
Now, this connects to resilience.
These notebooks also represent late nights.
I’m an early bird. I woke up today at 4:00 a.m. My friends know I go to bed early. These notebooks represent nights of going to sleep at midnight and then waking up at 4:00 or 5:00 a.m. Not because of pressure in a negative way, but because I was seeing your face in my mind and saying:
“Tiff, he needs you. She needs you to teach English.”
So I would rest and then get back up to create these strategies and methods that are going to help English learners around the world finally speak English with confidence.
Resilience means that when things are difficult, when things are hard, when things are challenging—you push through. It’s not easy to get small amounts of sleep and keep going. But resilience is about moving forward even when it’s tough, because you have a goal in mind.
My goal has always been, and will always be, to help you.
Even when I wasn't getting a lot of sleep, I was excited. I was happy to get up and start the next notebook. Why? Because I knew—ooh, baby—I’m going to be able to help someone understand that they are smart, that they are intelligent, and that I can simply give them tools to make them more confident.
Resilience—having the passion, being resilient, and moving forward because of that passion.
And then, consistency.
These notebooks also represent consistency.
I haven't stopped, and I'm not going to stop.
This was not what I planned for this video to be, but here we are.
Consistency is key whenever you're trying to achieve a goal. And for those who don't know, my goal is to help one billion English learners. That’s a large number, so I have a lot more work to do.
And in order to achieve this goal, I have to be consistent. I have to post each week. I have to make sure that I'm giving you my best—all of my thoughts, all of my ideas, all of my strategies.
I have to make sure you're getting what you need from me.
These notebooks are a reminder that I've been consistent.
And they are also an encouragement and fuel to keep me consistent moving forward into this next year.
So how does this directly connect to you?
Yes, I’m your English teacher, and I love it. I’ll be here. I’m not going anywhere.
But part of my goal—helping you speak English confidently—is to give you the tools that you need, the plans and the strategies.
So as we end this year and move into the next, I want to give you a plan. A plan that includes each and every day of the year, telling you exactly what you need to do.
You can download the plan for free. The link is right in the description.
This plan is the 365-day English plan
Download it. Use it. Follow it every day. Learn vocabulary. Learn expressions. Learn about culture. Follow the plan, and I guarantee you will achieve your goals as you move into the next year.
That’s all I wanted to say.
I hope this year was good for you.
This year was good for me. I learned a lot about my students. I appreciated all of the comments you left under my videos, all of the messages I received via email.
